As some of you probably know, my wife Jackie and I have two dogs, Lucky and Jaws. For those of you who don’t, here they are.
A few weeks ago, I was having a bad day at work. I called Jackie and asked if she could use her artistic talents (which are about a brillion times better than mine) to cheer me up. I simply asked her to draw me a picture of “Sensei Lucky & Karate Jaws.”
Alright, I suppose this warrants an explanation. Anytime our dogs get rambunctious or play-fight with each other, they tend to stand on their hind legs and flail their remaining appendages toward one another in a hilarious fashion. After viewing this several times, I immediately identified this behavior as Jaws’s “Karate Jaws” persona. And seeing as Lucky is the older of the two dogs, “Sensei Lucky” just seemed to fit naturally.
So after a thoroughly terrible day at work I returned home to realize that my loving wife must be able to read my mind, because the sketch pretty much turned out exactly as I envisioned it.
This is currently framed and hanging in our dining room.
